The game was won at the foul line:

Texas out-scored UNC 24-11 at the free throw line. Texas got 34 chances at the stripe compared to 19 for the Heels. Anybody notice how Texas looks alot like Carolina's team last year. The Longhorns have 9 players averaging at least 17 minutes a game. UNC has 5! Alot of depth! Texas is pounding the ball inside & getting to the line, much like UNC could do with Hansbrough & company. The Big 12 has a pretty good 1-2 punch with Kansas & Texas this year. Two good teams!

Kansas just scored again. Its now 6049944-12. Roy might call a time out soon, only to look for his jayhawks sticker.

If Pittman could continue to work as hard as he has his 4 years at Texas and get to the point of playing 30-35 mins a game, he could be a damn force. He still needs to lose another 15-20lbs, but reminded me a lot of Karl Malone for some reason.

hell half that run came in the last 30 seconds. Lead went from 7 to 13 in a blink. Not sure how a timeout could have prevented that.

Ginyard looked totally lost out there half the game. His play is the most worrisome. Fifth year senior is the one person you don't expect to make some of those dumb plays. Deon Thompson is still and will always be too soft. As a matter of fact all the tar heel big men are more finesse than brawn. [collin]they need ALex Stepheson[collin]

But still they have played a tough schedule and will be better for it by the end of the year

lol. A former Tar Heel and a former Niner helped USC pull the upset over Tennessee the other day.

Watched UNC's victory over Marshall last night, & while they started off real sloppy in the 1st half, they played a great 2nd half both offensively and defensively. Tyler Zeller continues to get better & better with each game, and Will Graves (10 rebounds, 13 points) & Ed Davis (10 rebounds, 19 points) also looked very good. Ginyard & Thompson still play very erratic at times, but both shot decent. I can't remember much about Drew in the game. The Tar Heels are getting better. They have lost to the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th place teams in the country, so nothing to be ashamed about. They're ranked about where they need to be.

Zeller is great on offense but can't rebound and doesn't understand defense at all. Not sure why he plays so lost on defense. Heck the whole front line (Thompson, Zeller, Henson, Davis) is soft. I know Davis is a good rebounder and shot blocker but even he gets pushed around by the other team.

But no real complaints. Just wish they could be tougher inside. Was surprised to hear that Drew II is fourth in the nation in assists. I knew he was a good passer but wish he was more consistent.

The Heels are going to be okay once conference play starts even though they'll probably lose a couple of "what the hell was that?" games. Who knows - maybe this is finally the year Clemson wins in Chapel Hill. It's going to happen eventually and this team seems ripe enough to let it happen.
