    I can not believe the UNC-Chapel Hill Sports Information Department would cave in and do a breakdown of stats this way, Before Sean May's Injury" and "After Sean May's Injury."
    However it actually is true. See pages 9 & 10 of UNC Men's Basketball Stats.

    Wow. What a fucking joke. I guess Carolina fans can't bring up their glorious past anymore as that now falls within the "Pre-Roy" statistical category.

    That is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen. What is the point? Are they trying to say we would have made the NCAA's without May getting injured? We would have - but injuries are part of the game, and we didn't have enough depth to overcome it. Seems to me that UNC team in 82-83 did OK without a guy named Worthy for a good chunk of the season.....

    Duke could have had a better summer. Shavlik Randolph had surgery, J.J. Redick barely played for the World Junior Championship team because of a wrist injury and Shelden Williams and Daniel Ewing got cut at the U.S. trials.

    The stat info was most likely done for the media. Many times, media guides and the stats contained in them, will be laid out to answer questions that have been made my the media, or are anticipated. This isn't unusual as it may seem. I've seen media guide stats that cover games when x player fouled out, when y player scored 20, when crowd was over 10,000 or even what color t shirt a guy wore. It's just another tool the SID office is offering to media folks.

    Have fun with it anyway.
