Imagine if Jerry had the balls to make a play for Payton Manning. I think he might fancy his chances not having to go against Brady or Ben to get there for another 5 years.

Not an impressive list when you consider who will actually be available. Which makes you wonder if the likes of Palmer getting out of Cincy would do him wonders if say the new CBA forces teams to make tougher decisions reguarding the cap.

Realistically its probably gonna be Volek (Riv and Chud should have a good idea about that) or someone like Dixon or Wallace. Cant see Jerry taking a risk on Young and Leinert has hardly displayed leadership qualities.

Our draft picks are too valuable this year to be throwing them at Orton or Kolb IMO. Our 4th is basically 1st pick day 2 (well, it used to be).

With a new staff and philosophy coming in maybe player trade would be the best way to address it.

But there is a reason Grossman took over for McNabb.

And sometimes McDonalds have a 2 for 2 bucks Big Mac and a Tuesday 99 managers special.

Pete Carroll said re-signing Hasselbeck is a top priority, so scratch him off the potential list

Agreed, but regardless of what you do with him long-term, it would be better not to have Clausen starting in '11. I prefer to have QBs sit for their first ~3 years regardless, as it takes a long time to process the position mentally, and as such QBs peak latest statistically of any position in the NFL. I hoped Garrard could end up here, but it's looking less likely that Jacksonville cuts him.

Agreed, 'd rather have Claussen on the bench next year and hope by not getting his brains beat out he can mature up professionally and maybe in a year or two show something better. Unfortunately the free agent pickings looks slim and the Panthers have competition. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Orton becomes available.

I'm biased because I thought he'd be a good player and he's made me look bad so far, but I don't think he's really pissed opportunities away so much as he's been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Warner was clearly better than any young QB would have been, while Leinart actually played pretty well during the 2010 preseason (QB rating over 100), but Whisenhunt decided he didn't like the guy personally. I think if Matt had stayed in Arizona as their starter, they would have won the West.

Hasselbeck, Leinart, and Clausen would be a nice depth chart.
