    IMO one of U2s biggest strengths and is rarely mentioned is their drummer Larry Mullen and bass player Adam Clayton

    i dunno man. clapton from the 60's/70's is pretty fuckin impressive and i'm not a clapton fan

    Just like any band that has longevity, the most current will not be as good as what got them to superstardom.

    That being said, I still think U2 is great. Certainly one of the top groups of all time.

    Every guy who picked up a guitar wanted to play like Clapton and Hendrix. They were the innovators and everyone that came after built on what they started from scratch. I knew a fourteen year old kid that could play Clapton riffs better than Clapton but it was Still Clapton riffs.
