    absolutely. and by any measure David Gilmour and Angus Young are top 15. The Edge doesn't even belong on the list.

    That Rolling Stone list is stupid. Eddie Van Halen at #70. Whatever. Randy Rhoads at #85. Get Real. Where the fuck is Buckethead?

    Stevie Ray Vaughn is easily Top 5. Buddy Guy is easily Top 10. Rolling Stone should set themselves on fire.

    Replace Clapton with Robert Johnson and I agree. Stevie Ray Vaughn was "better" than David Gilmour, though I tend to listen to old Pink Floyd 10x more than I listen to old SRV.

    I am proud to be an American. You? On a side note, I never got the attraction with Hendrix. His guitar was awesome, I'll give him that. His vocals sucked. And I probably dislike as much Zeppelin as I like.

    I don't know Clapton did as much in a lifetime as Hendrix did in his last year. Guy could've been fantasic I guess, but I don't see enough in his work to buy the hype.


    Anyway, Edge is the perfect guitarist for that band, which has one hell of a rhythm section and doesn't need that much on the front end. But no, he doesn't deserve to be in this conversation.

    U2 has had immense longevity. That they aren't as good as they were in the 80s isn't surprising nor that interesting.
