I agree Meat.. I was leaning more towards Henderson but now I am all for Peppers. Henderson is looking more and more like another Jason Peter with all the injuries. Henderson is too much of a risk at no 2. now.

Were not getting both of those guys. We’d be lucky to get one, and IMO, probably can't afford either. Starks will be far too expensive for us. We might get Farrior.

Yep. That makes things a bit trickier, doesn't it?

Do you think Fox saw something on tape that he really liked about Howard or Harper?

That CB position is something I'm pretty darned interested in....

Well, the trade down option is one solution to this. I just think some are greatly overestimating our position. A lot of teams are thinking about a trade down. It’s in vogue.

I understand the appeal of Jammer or Buchanon. We just lost 2 CBs. But I don’t think we should be scrambiling to have to fill holes THIS YEAR. I’m more than happy to go with some undervalued CB for a year while we fix our front 7.

I honestly DON'T want to trade down... dammit we ALWAYS trade down and end up having crappy draft choices... I know its a bit of a stretch... but dammit why don't we for ONCE keep the draft simple and draft the best possible players... the ONLY reason I would trade down is if Peppers isn't there... he's worth the #2 pick... but Jammer would at best be the 5 in my book... imagine the team we could have had with Randy Moss and Eddie George... my hope is they keep it simple and pick smart

MVM, that is pretty much what I was saying. McKinnie would be a safer pick, but Jammer is the need. That is If Peppers is gone.
I still feel the trade down gives us a better shot at filling our primary needs at CB, DE, and OLB. If we can't trade down, Peppers is probably the best choice.
Jammer might be a bit of a reach @ #2, but if Peppers is gone our other only real option would be Jammer or McKinnie if a trade down didn't happen.
That said, I think enough tems are taken with McKinnie that someone in the top ten would swap with us to get him, thus leaving us in position to get Jammer or Buchanon.
It does appear that Johnson has dropped, possibly out of the first round unless he can WOW em in personal workouts. Johnson in the second would be solid as he would likely be back in shape come gametime.
Ultimately, I'd like to see a trade down that allows us Jammer/Buchanon in the first, two of the following in the second Rasheed/Faulk/Calmus/Johnson/Fisher/Weaver/Coleman/Thomas/Freeman, and Taylor or Morris in the third.
Any combination there would give us an excellent day one and all of those guys should contribute as at least role players.
I have said before that I like Gonzales in the fourth. The guy is a technician and has mad smarts on the field. Really overshadowed by McKinnie, but plenty to brag about and will be a solid RT or Guard in the NFL.

yeah, I'd really like to take a look at Gonzalez in the 4. He reminds me of that guy people always want to replace but never can.

a little bump when I was looking for the Starks info. So now looking back, I feel a little better about the Witherspoon pick as long as he develops. We felt like we needed to go after two linebackers and one of them was young. I still think Saleem Rasheed would have been the more sure player, but he had negatives as well.
