Anyone use it? I'm pretty much fed up with Windstream. They took what wasa somewhat decent comapny in CTC and turned it into crap.

We have it. Never had a problem with it. Caller ID on tv is pretty cool. My wife is from Ohio so free long distance and not having to worry about cell phones signal or minutes usage is nice.

My biggest concern has to do with power outages. We don't get many at all, but that doesn't mean its won't happen.

    Get a UPS

You can get a small UPS to use for your Digital Router and Broadband connection. That will keep the line active. They may be available on Craigslist or Goodwill store. The one I got will keep 2 PC's and 2 22" LCD's and the DSL up for about 15 min. during an outage. At least giving me time to save and shutdown. Also stops the PC from crashing during drops in line voltage. Ever come home and all the clocks and microwaves flashing 12:00??

I left Windstream and went with TW. Haven't had one problem. The modem they put in actually has batteries in it. I'm sure the runtime is limited but it's better than nothing. And as mentioned, a small UPS will keep that thing up for quite a while.
And, the limited long distance is a plus.

The TWC modems with phone service all have battery backups, as noted, and they are supposed to have a very long run time (those modems don't consume much power after all).

TWC has been rock solid for voice for me.
