i need two also but could make due with one. Ive tried a few times to get dtv to give me a box. Get denied every time. They will waive the fee for existing customers but will not for new customers...go figure.

I'm getting ready to ditch Comcast and will probably go satellite but need to check out FiOS first. What did you not like about Dish as compared to Direct?

directv is the biggest no brainer in the history of tv...

112/mo for 5 tv's, hd, dvr, hbo included

Should have known it was going to be a rough two years the day I got it set up. The old guy they sent out was a subcontractor (Billy Bob's Satellite Dishes or some crap like that) who ended up having to call his buddy to help him get everything set up. 8 hours after arriving, they finally had it working. Direct has always sent a guy out in actual "Direct TV" trucks and have never been here for more than an hour that I can remember.

My wife uses the DVR feature about 200:1 more than me and she hated Dish's DVR setup.

Dish's equipment was crap too. Had to call tech support several times for multiple reasons during the two years I had them. Finally had one receiver crap out about 3 months before my contract ended and they tried to make me pay a "service" fee for the guy to come out and replace it. The whole reason I signed up for two years was because they told me if any equipment had to be replaced, it would be done at no expense whatsoever to me. I had to fight with them over it, but I finally won out. They gave me the "we'll waive the fee just this once" story, but said I'd have to pay it next time if they had to come out again. I laughed and told her that that was fine since I figured it should last until 3 months later when I cancelled the service. She didn't like that very much.

Yep. IMHO it's clearly the least of all the evils if you want more than half a dozen channels.

But I really miss my "football" card.
