another question is would anyone be willing to do this with JP? with all of the money he is going to command this may be better the way that marty has been getting good free agents in the last few years for little money

Someone might give up the picks for Peppers, you're right. I think they'll sign him to an extension, though, which is probably the best thing for all involved.

Dr. Z. had Gross as a pro bowler for the first half.

He also predicted after his rookie year that Gross would become one of the best tackles in the league. The performance on the field tells the story. Gross has allowed a lot of pressure off the weak side, he's had a ton of penalties, and he doesn't get much push in the run game. He's average.

I don't think too many people think he has been a Pro Bowler. I'd say he's been an average, but capable starter overall. He had a real bad game last week, a better game this week. The entire offense has struggled with the false starts, not just him, though thankfully not this week.

He's been good enough to win with, just not worth the coin most of us think he's going to get, particuarly given that increasing likelyhood that Julius will take up a significant amount of our caps space next year.

He's definitely starter quality. I'd be glad to keep Gross around if he would sign a reasonable contract, but there's no chance of that. Therefore due to the salary cap implications, I'd prefer to slide Wharton back out to LT and put a cheap rookie or vet at LG.

I am watching NFL Primetime and Travelle is a star, anybody else see it? He's iso'd on three or four plays and looking good too.
