    The Dodgers have me scratching my head so hard that my scalp is getting sore... :thinking: :thinking: :thinking:

    I haven't kept much attention of the Dodgers until recently. But, I think they made a terrible mistake by getting rid of Lo Duca and Mota. They may end up getting Charles Johnson from Colorado, but Johnson's career has shown that he is not reliable on a consistant basis. One minute he's all world, the next minute he just plain sucks. I think giving up Mota was worse than the Lo Duca side of the trade. All year long the Dodgers have played with the idea of their starters going seven, then Mota in the 8th to set up Gagne. Why do you break up such a critical part of the pitching philosophy? That is what has brought the Dodgers to this point, I just don't understand the reasoning behind that?

    dont look now bigdan but i heard that they blew a trade w/arizona to get randy johnson......after he had agreed to forego his "no trade" clause and ok'd the trade to LA. seems LA did not want to cough up some players.

    If I were a Dodger fan I would be livid. Trading away LaDuca w/o knowing rock solidly that I had catcher Charles Johnson (he turns down trade to LA) is a blunder of epic proportion. That and ruining the Mota to Gagne exchange is mind boggling. Your in first place! The only decent body you got was Brad (.500% record) Penny :shakehead

    my thoughts:

    im hurt, pissed and confused.

    hurt b/c if you listen to Lo Duca's statement on the radio, hes very upset and hurt because he feels betrayed. i know he will do well with the Marlins, but this sucks. Hes our leader, and our future.

    moda, was our setup guy. hes the paul quantrill of last year, and john wetland of the past. again, we make a mistake.

    dave roberts, got on base alot, stole 2nd base, and got to 3rd, and we scored runs the ole' fashioned way. its fun baseball.

    im glad we kept werth, hes going to be good soon. as far as encarncion, i dont understand that, not for he sop choi, or whatever his name is.

    its a shitty situation, im not happy at all. i'll repeat, its the classic case of fixing something unbroken. why? nobody really knows.

    as far as getting finely, choi, and penny, i guess its ok, still not thrilled.

    shit, i am away from home and tv for one freakin day and all hell breaks loose. they should have moved the deadline to july 30th this year so i would have a clue as to what the hell is going on. i haven't read up yet, but i think the biggest mistake i see just from these threads is breaking up the mota/gagne combo. deadliest 8th and 8th inning duo in the game, by far. that will hurt. franchise, you should keep track of how many leads they blow in the 8th from here out, and gagne doesn't get the save opp. mota was a crucial part to there pitching success.

    i'm gonna try and catch up now.
