So the Diamondbacks turned again to the Dodgers, who had already been talking with Florida to see if they could deal for one of the Marlins' starting pitchers. According to numerous sources who have talked with those teams, they've sketched out a three-team deal that would go something like this:

L.A. gets Finley from Arizona, a bat (believed to be Jeff Conine) from Florida and a starting pitcher (most likely Brad Penny).

Florida gets Paul Lo Duca and Kaz Ishii from L.A., and Brent Mayne from Arizona.

Arizona gets Jayson Werth from the Dodgers, and prospects from the Marlins.

There are still questions about where Finley would play in the Dodgers' outfield, since Milton Bradley currently occupies center field. But Arizona seemed determined to deal Finley before the deadline, and the Dodgers look like the only conceivable destination at this point

    Just for the record:

For those who think that Peter Gammons knows all -

"Nothing's been brought to me," Johnson emphatically declared. "I never vetoed a trade, like (ESPN's) Peter Gammons said. I kind of get tired of everybody writing their own little story. I haven't said anything since the All-Star break about this, and it's just taken a life of its own. That I vetoed a trade a couple days ago, and that my agent said I'd be ticked off if I was still here. There's been no quotes from anybody, just a third source. If this was a tin can full of water, there'd be no water in the can ... there's so many holes in this thing."

And for the rest of the dumbasses who spoke of Randy's "list" -

Johnson's displeasure with the media spared no one, and he would not accept the premise that there were any entities treating his situation fairly and accurately.
"I haven't seen one true story yet. Have you?" he demanded of the scribes surrounding his locker, launching into a litany of the press clippings he's collected. "That I vetoed a trade, that I want an extension, that I gave a list of teams that I would go to, that I'm only going to go to the Yankees. That's all fiction. That's all the stuff that's been written. None of that's true. Right? I know, and I'm telling you, none of it's true."

    That is all.

He didn't say that either. He said he wants everyone to quit making shit up. There have been no actual deals presented to him, so he hasn't even had the opportunity to accept or turn down a trade.

I honestly hope you're right. Dodgers message boards and ESPN are saying we are still pursuing him. I dont want to give up Werth, our future, for something that will last one year maybe two with Johnson and Finley.

I dont like it, nor do I like the deal we made last night. Too much gave up. Why trade? This is a classic tale of "fixing something when its not broken" we are first place in our division, and are 20-7 in July. I have to question the front office. 2-6, RS, opinions on that deal?

Dude, redundancy really isn't necessary. If you had read and comprehended the thread you would realize that virtually everything you just posted has already been addressed and discussed.
