I was wondering whether they would have air conditioning. It sure is hot. Wonder if I can bring some beer and liquor in there or if they sell it.

 

Roller Derby is a happening, happening all over the place. People come to see and be seen. There was the gamut in wearing apparel from colored Mohawks to women in evening dress to girls in tutus and fishnet stockings. Farmers brought there families and wore roller girl Tee shirts. Lots of extra cleavage on some ladies, the female testosterone was heavy in the civic center.
The Blue Ridge Rollers got their ass kicked but I never heard a boo. Even the out of town team was cheered. Those girls are tough, flat track skating on fucking concrete.
Would go again.

 

On TV they always skated on a banked wood track/rink.

Those are the Pros. This is a regional (flat track) league with ten teams. Next event in Asheville is Sept. 18th against Atlanta. Raleigh is another team. Get there early, the place was almost packed.
