This is pretty rough, so I went w/ more than 10 cuz these are the guys I can see as possible starters in coming years.

    1. Eli Manning - A well rounded field general. Increased his teams winning percentage just by accepting a scholarship. Posseses all the tools to be a great NFL QB

    2. J.P. Losman - Not a household name, but he has excellent ability. Better today than Patrick Ramsey was as a senior.

    3. Matt Schaub - Not flashy, but one of the smartest QB's in the class. Manages a game very well.

    4. Ben Roethlisberger (JR) - Should come out since half of his O-line will graduate. Tough, agile QB with a nice deep touch.

    5. Jason White - Maybe a little high as some credit his performance to being surrounded by great talent. Good game manager and throws a sweet deep ball.

    6. Matt Mauck - Good leader with good deep ball and decent accuracy otherwise. Has been inconsistent at times, but usually makes up for it when it counts.

    7. John Navarre - Nothing flashy, but posesses good judgment and a huge frame. Can make all the throws.

    8. Philip Rivers - Outside of his odd delivery, he just makes plays. Smart and experienced player. Good accuracy, but not a huge arm.

    9. Ryan Dinwiddie - A complete darkhorse, has been very efficient while putting up very respectable numbers teh last 2 years.

    10. Bill Whittemore - Burst on to the scene this year, in part, due to a better coaching staff. Similar to Kyle Boller in that he wasn't that impressive til his SR campaign.

    11. Rod Rutherford - Mobile QB with great pocket presence. Similar to McNair coming out of college, but not quite as good a passer. Will need a good QB coach and mentor.

    12. Scott McBrien - Not a great arm, but an excellent game manager. Makes plays when they are needed.

Here's a couple IAA guys to watch out for too:
    Eric Rasmussen San Diego (AA) 6'3 217 - 195/318 2982 61% 35/3

    Quincy Richard Southern (AA) 6'3 208 - 205/319 2718 64% 26/12

    Andy Hall Delaware (AA) 6'3 210 - 195/303 2285 64% 21/6

there are never 10 qb's in any draft worth a shit...move it down to 4 or 5 for serious discussion.

Schuab is nearly as overrated as Rivers.

I've never gotten his hype as an NFL player.

This is a weak ass crop.

    Rank Full Name School Year

1 Eli Manning Mississippi - probably the first pick in the draft, depending on who gets the top spot and who wants to work a trade. A Manning as a Raider?

2 Ben Roethlisberger Miami-Oh - A Jr, but should come out as he's the only other QB that's really worth a #1 pick. Very Stong arm, good pocket mobility, quick release. I'm sure the other Miami program wished it recruited him instead of Gator boy.

3 J.P. Losman Tulane 4Sr - impressive numbers in his first two years. The kid looks like an alien though. Better athlete and more mobile than Ramsey was.

    4. John Navarre Michigan 5Sr

    Classic tall, strong pocket passer.

    5. Josh Harris Bowling Green 4Sr

Would make a nice mid round pick. Smart pocket passer with a nice quick release, good footwork and a solid frame at 240 pounds.

6 Philip Rivers North Carolina State 4Sr

Would rate higher, at least in this draft, without that flicked throwing motion. I think he has enough arm, and he certainly has the size and toughness to go with it, and isn't a statue back, he can move.

7 Matt Kegel Washington St 5Sr

Only one year as a starter, so that's a red flag. But he does look the part, seems to have a lot more arm than Gesser did. A first cousin of Ryan Leaf.

    8 Cody Pickett Washington 5Sr

A disappointing season what some thought would be this year's Carson Palmer. Highly recruited out of high school, has a big arm, good pocket mobility and is a legitimate running threat. But the light never quite came on for Pickett. Has led quite a few come from behind victories, but part of that is because of his own mistakes in games put them behind.

9 Jason White Oklahoma 5 Sr

Despite last night, some scouts who dismissed him as a product of a system and surronding players are starting to take note of his play. He can throw a nice deep ball.

10 (tie) Casey Clausen Tennessee 4Sr

Another player with all the arm in the world, but hasn't made the proggression that was expected. Gets rid of ball too late, which negates his arm strength and makes recievers wait for the bal out of the break. Has shown ability to diagnos defenses, particuarly in the two minute drill.

If there's a guy that could use some time in the arena league to quicken his play up, this is a good example.

10 (tie) Jared Lorenzen Kentucky 5Sr

Good player on bad team. Somebody will take a chance on the Round Mound of Touchdown. Gutty, hearty, tough player that can make the throws, and has good footwork. Gets lazy with his technique, particuarly when faced with a rush, and often makes stupid plays when bad things happen, trying to force plays.

Manning and Roethlisberger are on a level by themselves.

Then probably Losman. Both Ben and J.P. will face questions about who they have played.

    Then Navarre, Rivers.

    Then Schaub.

I love Dinwiddie as a college player, but he's another one of those kids where I have no clue how he would fare against bigger schools. Plus I can't remember how big he is.

I've tried to get into Scwaub. Really.

My father in law thinks he's the best QB since sliced bread graduated from Pittsburgh. Thinks he was a Heisman guy if he hadn't gotten hurt. I nearly bit my tongue off.

All I see is average. Average arm. Dumbs down to the backs too often. Average size. Not particuarly mobile, ball doesn't fly out of his hand. I see Kurt kittner, Doug Johnson, ect, ect.

Not a guy you are going to hit a home run with a late pick on. Maybe a guy that can "game manage" a 2-10 recond or so.

I'm not sure how much of the "dumbing down to the back" part is by design though. Their whole offense this year seems to be "screen pass right, screen pass left, TE across the middle". They threw the ball downfield a LOT more last year in comparison to this year. I wonder how much of it is because the WR's aren't much to brag about. If I were his agent trying to sell him, I'd show the NFL folks film from his JR year.

I wouldn't expect to hit a home run with him either, but I probably like him a little better than you do. Someone will take a flyer on him.

Forgot about Harris at BG. You are right - nice skills with good size. He's gonna suffer from the runner label though.

Funny, Mags. You and I have kind of switched position on Lorenzen. Last year, I was real high on him and you were a little more cautious. Now it appears he has work his way into your list of possibilities and I have become more indifferent.
