    You know I don't think the scary movies today fuk with your mind like they did then......I mean when her head turned COMPLETLEY AROUND! That was it!!!! I was done for!

    Another was in Nightmare on Elm Street, when the guy was sucked into his bed, and Blood shot out to the ceiling! OMG! Dude I did not sleep for days! I did not sleep in my bed for weeks!!!

    They don't scare ya like that anymore!

    Here are some REAL horror movies

    In no particular order...

    * PIN: The Plastic Nightmare
    * Hellraiser1,2 and "Inferno"
    * Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (NOTE: This one only counts if you saw the Twin Peaks TV series and knew what was going on. Otherwise you have no chance in Heaven or Hell of following the story. Even so, its atmophere, music, and visuals alone give me creeped-out dreams, a feat that is damn near impossible these days.)
    * 8MM (More mystery than horror, but outstanding texture and brooding air of darkness)
    * Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street series (Before the culture turned them into self-parodies, these are still prime examples of the quintessential horror movie)

    I also MUST mention the survival horror video game series Silent Hill. I still say playing through these two beats ANY horror movie EVER for sheer power to crawl under your skin and make you leave the light on.

    And yes, I know I left out some gems. I don't want to be here all night.

    What was the show that Lenord Nimoy hosted back in the late 70's early 80's???? The music, and the show freaked me out.......

    Anybody remember "The Beast Within?" I never saw the movie, but I remeber the freaking Trailer for that movie, Hell that scared the Jesus outta me!

    The Exorcist - totally. I'm torn because it's one of my favourite movies - but it scares me witless everytime I see it. I think the recent directors cut was excellent - especially when she walks down the stairs backwards...:eek:

    Jaws - Shocker - you said it best...it sealed the fear I have of sharks permanently. I can't even swim in a swimming pool by myself thanks to that movie. :mercy:

    The Omen - That little Damien kid gave me the heebie jeebies!

    Amityville Horror - Like Obewon - I've still never watched it completely though - :(

    The Bad Seed - old black and white movie I saw years ago - gave me bloody nightmares!

    Movie buffs take a look at this site...
    https://www.dvdrentalcentral.com/home-v1.asp

    You can rent as many DVDs as you want and return them anytime without late charges. NO SHIPPING CHARGES WHATSOEVER. Sent through the mail to you. 4 DVDs out at a time and all that for 19.95 a month. That is a great deal and cheaper than Blockbuster.

    www.netflix.com is also a great site but I would suggest the 4 or 5 DVD plan - which is a little more expensive.

    Cool thing is these places have a TON of DVDs! Just about any movie you would ever care to see!
