You know the soundtrack should be cool for the House of 1,000 corps. I hope its not a cheezy movie.

i pretty much refuse to watch horror cuz i don't like nightmares, but of what i have seen:

    1. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the original, saw this as a kid and spent half my life convinced my parents were aliens)

    2. Don't Look Now (don't know if this would actually be classed as horror but it scared whimmy jammies out of me -- course anything with Donald Sutherland scares me)

    3. The Birds (still get a bit nervous when i go to the beach)

    4. Psycho (the original)

    5. Stepford Wives

Carrie always did it for me. When that hand came up out the ground. YIKES. My heart was beating a mile a minute. :scared2:

The Omen - when the Devil comes to earth, it unnerves me.

Alien - I liked the second one too, but this was really fresh back in the day and scared the crap out of me even though we NEVER get to see the full Alien

Halloween - I was young and I still think this is a very good slasher flick.

It helps that all of these movies were out when I was a kid. I wonder if they'd bother me as much now.

Alien is definately a classic sci-fi horror flick. I must say though that after buying the DVD that the actual movie (in terms of replay) may not be quite as entertaining as the follow up - Aliens. Once you have seen the original, it just doesn't have as much value as the sequel IMO. However - The first Alien is, in terms of quality, one of the best sci-fi horror flicks of all time, and therefore Aliens is up there with it as well.

alien...when i was a kid i could not watch past the part when harry dean stanton is looking for the cat and the alien is hiding in the landing gear. i knew what was coming and couldn't take it.

the howling...the BEST transformation scenes. period. ...and throw in some sly humor along the way...like slim pickens as a werewolf sheriff.

someone mentioned carpenter's remake of the thing and i have to agree...effects still aren't bad, cast is great, and the movie is extremely tense and suspenseful.
