  3. Cutting Steve B. Oh wait, that wasn't Fox...and I'm not Thelt.

I'm not sure I'd have cut Evans.

I'm not so sure that would have been a bad thing. After all Wienke had a few games with 3 turnovers himself, I think - and no like I said, I am a Wienke doubter at this point not a Wienke hater.

When someone explains what Wienke has done for the team to be the QB of the future, maybe I'll understand why this team thinks he is.
Right now he would be a decent backup...

Lewis could not beat out Weinke. Do you really think we would be better off with Lewis?

Thats like saying my boy Craig is capable... niether guys have proven they know how to win NFL football games, at least Wienke has proven he "can" due to poor play lose a few games all by himself....

Unlike some Bear, no I do not "know". The only thing I do know - see note above is that Wienke has been given 16 games, many were lost or attributable to his turnovers... Lewis was never given a chance after preseason - those are facts, anything after that is mere speculation or opinion... ;)

If Weinke had not been drafted, whatever vet FA we picked up to be the backup would have started.

Dilfer???? Don't think he'd have the success here though.

Anyway, to explain Sandy's question, the cap is reason 1, reason 2, as our new OC explained, sometimes Weinke looked great, sometimes not. He thinks he can make the not go away with some work.

Last year's team would have made Kurt Warner look bad. We had ZERO talent for Wienke. I am not even sure this year will be any different.

I guess at some point, a QB has to be given some credit instead of getting him in line with all the stars and moons... at some point you have to have a guy that can make things happen or maybe even approach novelty and make people play better...
