American Tragedy has always been one of my favorites. It's on the list. Another, The Book of the Dun Cow, is not.

the list is flawed: I didn't see The Legend of Erma Fields Gaping Cum Pot.

Me, too. Most were assigned in school. Hated all but about 2, maybe 3 of those I read. At least I didn't see much Steinbeck on that list.

animal farm, catch-22, catcher in the rye, a clockwork orange, a death in the family, deliverance, gone with the wind, the grapes of wraith, the great gatsby, i claudius, light in august, the lion the wich and the wardrobe, lolita, lord of the flies, lord of the rings, native son, 1984, on the road, one flew over the cuckoo's nest, rabbit run, slaughterhouse-five, the sound and the fury, the spy who came in from the cold, the sun also rises, to kill a mockingbird, watchmen

    26.

no wuthering heights though, which is my favorite. some peculiar ones on the list, and not on the list for that matter. i would think that the jungle, for example, has to be better than portnoy's complaint, whatever that may be.
