Hee, hee, hee. :) You catch on fast, Piper. There are FAR too many unknowns right now for you to take that bet. I'm willing to make it now, but you know I won't if Clausen does have big #'s in those two games. And you are right that if he torches Miami he's probably in. That's just a really big if to me. I'm thinking something like 17-14.

Honestly, I must say that I questioned Leftwich for a while too. However - he is as technically sound as any QB in college football. Quick release, not much wasted motion and is as accurate as any college QB you will see. Add that to the monster arm and leadership traits he has shown and he is a no brainer. I would add that his offensive weapons really aren't as talented as some might think. Its not the system IMO. He is the real deal. Put him at Miami or Texas and his numbers would be ungodly. Culpepper makes sense as a comparision but he is not quite the runner Culpepper is - but to me that is overated as you win throwing from the pocket more than running.

Right now - he is definately the #1 pick in the next draft - actually might be a bit ahead of Manning, which I never thought could be the case.

OK. Let me get back to you after this week. A lot will depend on Washington. I don't see any QB leading a charge vs Miami, particuarly if the star WR is out.

Give me until before the Miami game.

What are we wagering? What kind of beer do you like?

Hey Pipe, it my understanding that Washington is playing this week. So he should be fine for Miami. The Canes look all world right now, but at least they are going to earn it by playing Va Tech and the second best team in the land IMO - Tennessee.

Yes, he's back, and had a good week of practice. Supposedly 100 percent.

Kind of funny the way it worked out. Fulmer wanted some more looks for our other WR, and got them against two scrub teams.

Now we've settled on a #2, and a slot guy. Scott and Jones. Now Washington is healthy. It actually couldn't have worked out better.

First off, IMO if Clausen comes out, he's got the ability to go farther up the ladder than Ragone, unless his workouts arent' as good. I don't like his release and he's gonna need a year's time but if he came out, he'd be fairly high.

yeah, leftwich's footwork will need some work, and somebody'll probably try to change his throwing motion.

    >>but not over here where everyone thinks they are right.

It differs between those that are immovable in their ability to support one thought and those that just have the information. There can be differences of opinion, yeah, and in this case that's where we are here.
