Here's a listing of guys that should be on our radar

    1. Byron Leftwitch

A less athletic version of Donte Culpepper. Has the quicker release, to go with the arm. Can play in any system, and has carried an average team

    2. Eli Manning - Could be the best of the Mannings. Accurate, strong arm, good vision, has bros quick release. Perhaps a bit more zip than his brother.

    3. Casey Clausen - Has made remarkable strides, putting up Manning like numbers at TN. Tough, good leader, strong arm, accurate. Has never really faced pressure, due to the strong TN line. Nicknamed "Iceman." Thinks he can run, but can't.

    4. Carson Palmer - Two strong performances may step him up. Again, has all the tools, but that knack for throwing the INT has haunted him.

    5. Rex Grossman - See Palmer. He's smallish, but is tenacious. Very good arm. Sometimes forces the ball, as his competitive streak outweighs his brain.

    6. David Ragone - Lefty. Big hype, having to carry a weak team. I'm not sold on his decision making, or if he has the vision for the NFL. Got the tools, like everyone on this list.

    7. Phillip Rivers - Yo Math!. Bottom line, he's the NCAA's leading passer through week one. Let's see him keep it up.

    8. Ken Dorsey - Early Heisman fav has the weakest arm of the bunch.

    9. Chris Sims - It's put up or shutup time for this prospect. At somepoint, production has to weigh in over potential.

    10. Lorenzon - Yeah, I'm fat. I still throw the ball a mile, and kick you in the balls doing it. Just ask LSU about me. Fuck you. Where's my pizza?

Grossman goes to 8th or 9th on your list for me.... I put Rivers higher than Gross for sure. ;)

To be honest, 3 through 9 could go up or down.

Clausen's the hot guy right now. He's everything the others are not. Throws TDs, not INTs. Has the same skill set as Manning, with maybe a little better deep ball.

But he's as athletic as a young Beuerline (or maybe Bledsoe), has never faced any real pressure, and seems to think he's got Rich Gannon's legs.

    1. Byron Leftwitch- I am starting to grow suspicious of the hype, but he does SHOW you some reasons for it. That's the key in my eyes, what he shows. Probably the best in class at this point, but I don't see him finishing the year as the top rated QB in the draft.

    2. Eli Manning - Has two big shadows to emerge from, but I like what I see of him. Tough, smart and just makes plays when they are needed.

    3. Casey Clausen - He has improved, but I don't see him as a big timer in the NFL. He's always been over shadowed by "names", but continues to produce despite being pushed back by thoae in "the know".

    4. Carson Palmer - I like his general composition. Just needs to get his head on the right track. Tries to do too much sometimes and gets himself in trouble. Given the right OC/QB coach, he could develop into a solid NFL qb in a couple of years.

    5. Rex Grossman - Just don't care for him at all, probably just because of his location. Never cared for any of Stevil's QB's. I see him as a career back-up or a starter in Washington.

    6. David Ragone - Liked him better last year when he wasn't TRYING to win the Heisman. Still, a great talented competitor. Tough as nails and will make EVERY effort to win, even though they won't against the big teams.

    7. David Rivers - Never liked his delivery, but love his production and savy. Unconventional type of QB, but makes plays. Kind of Farve-like in that respect.

    8. Ken Dorsey - See Gino Torretta minus the Heisman.

    9. Chris Sims - He's just a NAME, one of those guys that overshadows better QB's like Clausen just because he's Phil's boy.

    10. Lorenzon - I really like what this guy does ON the field. Otherwise, he's known for being lazy as hell and not doing his homework...both football and class. He'll need a new attitude off the field, but he'd come ready to play on Sunday.

Seneca Wallace is a very good COLLEGE QB, one of the best out there, but at 5'10" he just doesn't have the size. I have become comfortable that he'll be catching passes rather than throwing them at the next level. Too bad there isn't a drug to induce height, cuz Wallace has one of the smoothest motions you'll ever see. He makes throwing on the run look like no problem at all and is accurate when doing so.
I guess if Flutie can do it, Wallace can...but probably won't. He even admits that he probably won't be a QB next year...but he's going to try anyway.

Damn it Piper - You are trying to draw me out now... B-line athletic? Well OK all NFL players have to be athletic to play in the NFL - at least I think they do.

But to say "as" athletic as young Bline who never hung on to a starting job as a "young" QB - well shit fire, your just baiting me dude... :D

Of course. There's no reason to think you'd start having self-control now. :p

I'm speaking as a TN fan who is tired of seeing Clausen do a Steve Young impersonation. Watching him run is like watching ice melt in a glass of cold water.

He did run one in last year vs Notre Dame, and is tough. But watching that run was painful. We just don't have crap behind him right now, and don't want him to get hurt.

Part of the problem is our recievers are running the wrong routes. They aren't where they should be, so he'll tuck it. Washington is back this week, so he should keep his ass in the pocket and throw to TN's other first round prospect.

Well he's got a better much arm than Mathews or any other Gator QB, but no, I'm not a Grossman fan. I admire his guts, but he is small, and doesn't always make great decisions, particuarly under pressure.

Measurables, other than size, he's got tons more than any other Gator QB, though.

Thus, he has the resume to be Washington's next starter.
