This is bad news, but it's not like I was looking to him to contribute a great deal anyway.

I wonder how thin we actually have to be to pick up another WR. Certainly what we ould get from Jeffers, plus a couple of hundred thou, would land us a capaple veteren. What's that guys name I saw for the Cobras the other night? He's got size and seemed to be able to catch TD's.

As I think about it, do you think the Panthers, as welll as some other teams, are just waiting for the AFL to be over to pick up a few players?

Is it Hayes, or was he the WR from Grand Rapids...#5 if I remember correctly. I was flipping back and fourth from that to the Shrine game, so the numbers all blended together?

I look at AFL and I can't help but see it as an excellent development tool for QB's and WR's. Look at Warner, he makes it look so easy. Why, because he got used to the fast pace of AFL...now it seems as if things have slowed down, to him.
WR's are operating with much less space to get open. I think there are more posession/WCO type WR's in AFL than there are pure down fielders, at least that's how I see them translated into the NFL. Orande Gadsden would be a good example.
Don't expect to see any AFLer's starting, but I can see some guys taking some roster spots as #4, 5 or 6 on the depth chart.
Who was the guy that went from AFL to Europe, back to AFL and then to the NFL all with in a one year span?

Bright's an example of the AFL.

Plus, he went to community college and then stopped playing football - off the scout radar.

Bright will make the roster. His size is a concern, but you'd think he'd have been injured by now, playing on all that turf.

    Plus, 4.2 40.

Torn ACL and MCL waived, Panthers claimed WR Mareno Philyaw off waivers from the Falcons.
