How many of you have it or an alternative DVR machine? I love mine. It changes the way you watch TV. The only problem I have now is that Lost and Smallville come on at the same time..

I have had the battlestar galactica miniseries and the Johnny Cash memorial concert on mine for over a year.

If you figure out how to burn DVD's from Tivo without commercials let me know, that would be sweet.

same here. I cant watch a tv show without pausing or instant replaying it. wanna check that Richard Petty 60 minutes episode on classic sports at 3:30 am? no problem. push 2 buttons and its done. its the best thing invented since the internet and those tight black pants for girls.

i guess you could hook up a burner and stop/start it to get the commercials out. i'm too lazy for all that. you can build a dvr inexpensively and edit content to burn. i just haven't done it yet.

tivo is a closed system but there is a plethora of hacks. again, too much work for me.

directv dvr (tivo) has two tuners. that's pretty damned sweet. and it's free with the premium level of directv ($85 per month for pretty much all pay channels).

i just installed a 2nd drive in mine for ~150 hours of record time. now if they'd only come out with the dvd burning for the directv version...

a lot of networks have started pulling shit where they run an extra minute or start a minute early to confound tivo recordings. that is total fucking bs. i think lost has done this.

I usually start everything a couple of minutes early and end it five minutes late.

yeah, but then you'll never be able to record an hour-long program at 8pm and at 9pm. unless you've got 2 recievers... a lot of people are comlpaining about this.
