Well I`m staying with Time Warner. They made an offer and I accepted. Its the ton more channels and spending less money package. I like it.

If you have a strong signal to start with you should get very very little signal lose and then only if it POURS. And then only for a few minutes. i have had both Dish and Direct for the last 16 years. And I bet in all that time 16 years would NOT add up to 2 hours in time of lost signal.
Oh maybe if wet snow clings to the dish you might have to go out and broom it off which is no biggy.

Not sure how he did it, but when I called to cancel my service with TWC, they offered to lower my rate just to keep me from cancelling. I told them too late to offer lower rates after screwing me for a couple years.

I just told them the truth, that was paying more for what they offered than I could get by going satellite. I had the basic 65-70 channel package and roadrunner. I was paying $114/month and it was going up to around $125 with the latest increases. They offered a 250 channel digital package and with no reduction in my internet service, it dropped to around $102-103.

Thats what I did to my windstream telephone service. Plus I hardly ever used my land line any more.
