Time to gamble - 10/25

    Ok. I know it's early. I haven't even had time to get a really good grasp of the entire sheet yet.

    But there are two games out there just screaming at me already.

    Minnesota (-14) - Illinois is in the tank. Hurt QB, hurt RB's, hurt pride and can't stop the run. Minny can run the hell out of the ball. The only thing I can figure is that after the way Minny collapsed last year after a fast start the books must have no faith in them this year. But Illinois is just SO bad. I really like this game.

    Kansas (+20) - Yeah, they laid an egg last week somewhat yet still won. But somehow I suspect they were looking ahead a little. Since a couple of close games in '93 and '94, Kansas State has just beaten the hell out of them - usually running it up to 50's or 60's. K. State has played better teams than the Jayhawks to this point, but how seriously do you think K St will take them after thrashing them for years? This game means more to Kansas I think.


    Definitely coming back for more, but if I was still going offshore these two would already be in.

    Don't forget that KU/K-State game is in Manhattan and will be in the cold rain. K-State generally plays better when the weather is bad.

    jeff bowden is catching a lot of heat for the offense at fsu. he needs to score a bunch of points this week to get everyone off his back.

    too bad that he has to rely on rix.

    i look for lorenzo booker to get in and do some things.

    I thought that at first too Larry, but I'm WAY too spooked by that sputtering O to lay 19.

    Of course, since I'm passing on it you can be sure FSU will win 41-7 now.

    Yeah they will. They fucking better. If Illinois gets up off the carpet this week after playing dead for a month I am going to freak. I'm actually thinking of hammering this one a little more than others - and I usually stay from weighting bets. It just looks too good.
