Not only are his family a bunch of nutcases, but he is as well. true that he is a real competetor, but he cried after every loss, and is a total pansy. I don't know if ya'll saw the special on him, but I love the fact that Georgia didn't even give him the time of day cause Matt Stafford is gonna blow him out of the water. If you run the option in the SEC you will get killed. Urban Meyer already figured that out, and had to put in a tight end and fullback. He finally realized that without a fullback and tightend that his team is useless running the option. Ever since they have put in a tight end Florida is undefeated. If anyone abandones Chris Leak then they are stupid. I would not be surprised at all if Leak is a Heisman candidate next year. Granted the SEC will be down with Georgia geting pretty much a new offensive, and definsive line as well as a secondary. They should win the East and play Auburn as the SEC champion. Meyer is an idiot in the way he utilized Leak, and my roomate is an arrogant bastard from Cape Cod who says whatever to make me mad (Patriots fan, hates Duke, and talks shit about Chris Leak) I think Leak will surprise people and be a Heisman contender, but after seeing the Tebow special i think that the kid isn't even close to being as good as people thought. He freakin lost 2 games (that I saw) his senior year, and is one of the top ranked QB's in the country. And I don't think any other coach shoved god down their throat as much as their coach did. I hate him already, and I hate the fact that my roomate keeps saying Leak sucks. Sure I hate Florida (because I go to Georgia) but I love Chris Leak and know he will go to the league and you always defend a Charlotte graduate over anything and Chris Leak has gotten a raw deal. I mean, he is considered to have a bad season when he is throwing over 2500 yards and possibly going 10-3. I love Chris Leak, and I think starting Portis or Tebow over him is an injustice. Tebow is going to get every bone in his body broken in the SEC. Urban Meyer should learn after his first couple of games that his option is pretty much a failure. P.S. I've had about 20 beers because I'm done with exams, but if this makes sense, please discuss

You should drink liquor after exams. It's cheaper and less bloating.

Tebow will regret not choosing Alabama..Portis is laeving. I think Leak would chose another school if he had it to do over again.

Tebow looked pretty impressive in the game ESPN televised early in the season. I think he's probably going to do well, and I do think he's a good fit for Meyer's offense. Besides that, both his parents also attended Florida, so what do you expect?

And suckit, crying after a loss does not mean you're a pansy. It means you care, especially when you're doing it at that age. Nice angry rant, though.

Meyers offense sucks against a good fast defense. He will have to make some adjustments or he will be out of the SEC faster than Zook was.

Meyer's offense works just fine against a fast defense, Florida just didn't have the offensive line this year to do anything effectively.

Penn State and a lot of other teams have adopted aspects of Meyer's offense and have had considerable success, so I think it'll work, but it has strengths and weaknesses just like any other scheme. It's obviously not going to be as successful against SEC defenses as it was against the WAC, but you can say that about anyone's offense.

You might want to discount everything I said cause last night was celebrating my 21st birthday since I couldn't during exams, and I didn't know I typed this till right now. I did get to see D.J. Shockley though! I think Tebow will be good, and he looks pretty fast as well. I think Meyer learned that the option he used at Utah and Bowling Green won't work in the SEC, and ever since they put in a tight end into the offense and didn't have Leak running around the field getting hammered, they've done a lot better. I really wouldn't be surprised if Leak goes bananas his senior year in the second season under the offense. I mean his stats this year are below his sophomore year stats but he had to learn a new offense and still threw for over 2500 yards. Meyer just adds discipline. If Zook had any discipline last year, they would've had the same record as this year's team.

    *rofl* :birthday:

And for what it's worth, the option will work fine. The problem isn't the offense and its suitability for the SEC so much as Leak's strengths and weaknesses as they relate to Meyer's proclivities. Pure option attacks have gone out of style largely because they were too limited in options (pun intended), but we've all seen what mobile quarterbacks can do for an offense at any level. It does elevate injury risk at the position, but it also places additional burdens on the defense, and I do think it's a viable offense in any conference.
