Just watched it this AM on TIVO. Better than I expected. It is the Playmakers of poker.

you can't watch it expecting to see card playing...it is definitely a drama series rather than a series about people playing winning poker. I know some of the pros are kinda down on the debut--the rigged games, the thug top player, the casino manager at the head of it all....I liked the episode, because I know this isn't the way it is in legit play.

I know plenty of games in town that are rigged.....that night we went to that Italian game...they kept pumping the pot and riding their best hands...it was like 3 against 1 every hand....I didn't figure out what the signals were, but they never went heads up against each other.

I like when he said "I gotta go relieve myself" and went into a room to an awaiting blond on her knees :xyzthumbs

Yep, it was pretty good, of course not all real world (some was), but it is a heck a lot better than some of the shows on TV today. I think you have to take it for what it is. I don't the pros would want a show out there that will show everybody how to be a poker pro for free/very cheaply.

    My favorite line was :
Brit: You played that hand like you had a pair.
Pro: No, I played that hand because I have a pair.

Have to disagree on that one, it seems every pro has a book out now telling you a bunch of their secrets. Granted they might not tell all, but if they want to keep their sales up they need to tell enough.

I like the show, was a little bit too fast paced. I was expecting more poker playing, but the drama seems to be intertesting enough to grab me for a few more episodes.

Well that was my point, they aren't making direct money on this like the books, other than the fish that will get interested because of the show.
