I don't think you can lump all PSLs into one group whether you like them or hate them. I too have issues with corporate PSLs and the "it's the thing to do" type fans who venture out now and then to be seen - you know the wine & cheesers. I've always had annoyance with the club seaters but also know full well there are MANY who are GOOD fans. It would irritate me if clubbers got advance sales and no other PSL holder. It's a nice perk (we won't use it this year since my step daughter will be giving birth in preseason so likely won't make any games) but NOT a necessity.

A rich person or corporation who buys seats simply because it's the popular thing to do shouldn't be treated any better then my husband & I who literally cleaned out our savings accounts to buy our two uppers and only missed one preseason game apiece making sure our seats were filled with Panther fans both times.

The fact that you had a jetski to sell makes you "well off" in my book. I guess our respective incomes and cultures give us a different definition of "well off". However, where you spend your money is your business and not up for debate. You earn and sacrifice and deserve what you have. You already have your tickets and im happy for you. In fact, im jealous. I wish i could afford them too. And i believe yours are up front and personal too if i recall from all the pics that you've posted. If every other PSL owner was the die hard fan that i know you to be there would be no tickets left at all if they didnt set aside a few scrub seats in the nose bleeds. So its the policy of the Panthers i have issues with, not those that can afford the luxury. If i was a PSL owner id want as much prefered treatment as i could get too.

I just dont want the Panthers to forget the little man. Id like to say that some of my tax dollars went to the building of that stadium too. Alone, we can only afford a game, two or three. Sometimes travel is cost prohibitive too. Were not all from Charlotte and can afford to waste both time and money traveling in the hopes of scalping on the cheap. But together we are strong in numbers and can fill those seats all season.

I dont know how the PSL owner ate the cost of empty seats so if you could elaborate on that it might help me understand better. But i bought tickets that season too, before the season started (my tickets could have been during a playoff run just like yours on a better year). I went down there knowing full well wed get spanked. I could have saved the gas and hotel fare and watched it on TV instead but i didnt. I know i dont get many opportunities to get my hands on those tickets. The black and blue runs thick in my veins too.

Joker, you do get preference. You get your seats. You get the opportunity to buy playoff tiks, and the remote chance of Super Bowl tiks. That doesnt mean we need to have EVERY preference. I think that's plenty.

We built HALF the stadium. The PSLs raised only half the price. Exclusionary clubs are not that much fun.

BTW, I borrowed the money for my ONE PSL, and took a while to pay for it. I had to advertize in the newspaper for a partner to work out a deal to get 2 tiks to half the games.

So come on guys, no class warfare from either side, OK?

    Per Panthers.com:

Sept. 3, 1993 - The ticket campaign for potential NFL expansion cities ends with the Carolinas receiving orders for 104 luxury suites, 8,314 club seats and 49,724 PSLs. Deposits for luxury suites, club seats and PSLs total $54 million, representing a total pledge of $112.7 million.

Sept. 22, 1993 - Richardson Sports makes a presentation to the NFL Expansion and Finance Committees and league officials, including Commissioner Paul Tagliabue. They report to the league that NationsBank and Wachovia have posted a $30 million guarantee to purchase unsold PSLs. Effectively, the stadium is sold out, and total money pledged is $142.7 million.

The 2005 Media Guide states that the stadium cost either $187 million or $189 million. (I'm not at home now and can't confirm which)
