Guess the argument would carry more weight if the community built the stadium. Simple fact of the matter is that PSL owners are major investors into the organization and like most investors should be able to garner some dividends from that investment. Having the ability to secure some additional tickets before the public for some of the events in order to bring some of my family and/or friends to said events is an example of said dividend.

True but some of us not so well off fans, who bought and actually went and supported the team thru a 1-15 season are left scrambling the internet between 10.00am and 10.05am for leftovers.

They had no problem sending me shit in the mail then.

In 1993 I bought into PSL's with my brother in and was between jobs. I decided to sell my beloved Jetski in order to secure those tickets on what was quite a leap of faith at the time. Also keep in mind that the PSL owners had to pay for the horror that was the 1-15 up front and in full. While there may have been a lot of empty seats during that season, I do know of a lot of so called die-hard fans who balked at paying even $10 to go to some of those games. The PSL owners ate the cost of each of those empty seats. And I have pictures that shows empty seats in most of the general public seating sections during that season except for all the Patriot fans during he last game.

There always seems to be a lot of crap thrown the way of PSL holders in regards to those empty seats, but just bear in mind WE paid for them. And I was there for each one of those painful games and even made two road trips that year! It is quite a blatant generalization to assume that anyone who has a PSL is 'well off'. I could solve a few financial issues by selling mine, but I still believe in the product and love the team so I make that sacrifice. I also know that at some time in the future when the current success goes away that I will still be blindly paying up front for each and every season. So everyone will have to excuse the hell out of me if I demand a little preferential bone thrown my way once in awhile.

I have mixed feeling on the PSL's...I can't afford them for one, and another...for tickets to sell out so fast and to see soo many scalpers with tickets in the street really pisses me off

Excuse me if I don't feel sorry for you. There's is a reason they don't call them the PSL Panthers.

i think the bulk of the people that can afford and have bought PSL's are not the true rabid football fans and they take seats away from fans that could give the panthers more of a homefield advantage atmosphere...of course there are exceptions...like pantherfanz, pantherpaul, cattrax, etc...

I know Pantherfanz is a true fan. It's just a little petty to claim he's more entitled to be a fan.

The city provided 40 million for land and the county paid for 10 million worth of building relocation.

I don't have a PSL, b/c I am 25, just got out of college, working my ass off to pay the bills. What my dad, bro and I have done since 1996 is scalp. Plain and simple. Our theory is it don't matter how we get in there, or where we sit....we will be at every game possible.

Honestly, I will not miss one game this year. I had to miss a couple last year.

Well the city did throw in the land, and the Panthers do pay property tax on it. The current 2003 tax valuation for the stadium, parking deck and practice field is around $150 million bucks which means if my math is correct the property tax bill alone is around $3 million per year. Currently the Panthers have repaid the county 25 to 30 million of that outlay back and should be even with the country by kickoff 2008. That does not include all of the other tax revenue the city and country get from the Panthers, the surrounding business that has been built because of the Panthers and just about all of that other failed trickle down economic mumbo-jumbo that can be traced back to the team. And after 2008 the Panthers will continue to pay property tax which means the good taxpayers of Charlotte are going to realize a dividend on thier investment.

Am I entitled to be more of a fan? Where the hell does that come from? I get no special nothing with the exception of at least being able to purchase a handful of tickets at normal face value 3 days prior to everyone else. That is not much to ask for giving the Panthers a freaking intrest free loan for tickets 6 months prior to opening day....

Any additional tickets that I can purchase will be offered on this board at face value. PSL's have polarized fans to a degree. PSL's helped make the Panthers possible. You also have the PSL holders that know they have tickets to the next game when the weather will be better. So why not stay at home this weekend? I've missed three games. Two because of work and one to protest Capers (as a few may remember).
