Of the players cut today, I would be interested in the following as Panthers...

S Kwaime Lassiter - Savy vet who may have lost a step, but is still a seasoned player.

OT Carlos Joseph - Technically sound FB player, Polished O-lineman.

RB Earnest Grahm - Better RB than Smart.

RB Sultan McCullough - Better than Smart or Grahm

OT Tony Pape - Good, not great. Typical Michigan O-lineman

RB Freddie Russell - Good return man and a nice scat back

RB Damien Anderson - Can't see how he doesn't make the Cards final roster?

DE Dennis Johnson - Very Talented, but unmotivated player. Fox could get this guy to play.

RB Ken Simonton - Solid runner, can't seem to stick anywhere though?

OL Ben Sobieski - Good young depth player. Probably never be a regular starter, but a solid back-up. Better Physical tools than Nelson. Injuies limited his exposure in college.

OT Marques Sullivan - Another unmotivated player that Fox could get something out of.

RB Lousaka Polite - I see this guys career unfolding much Like Davis' has. A college FB who at some point moves to a power RB role and shows nicely.

TE Jabari Holloway - Good hands, otherwise an average TE...as good or better than anything we have now.

RB Eric McCoo - How can the Eagles let this guy go? Good power runner w/ decent vision.

QB Scott McBrien - He made Couch look like crap, heady QB with OK arm.

RB Avon Cobourne - Solid runner, just didn't have an impressive camp.

damn, with the peetey winky debate boring everyone to tears its turned to 3rd string running backs. there's a decent enough scrap heap out there and our ps to probably not worry about that, but we'll worry about anything.

Yep. They had their starting interior three when they brought him in, so he was too expensive to keep.

He's been around, does he have anything left? If he still wants to play, what kind of deal would it take to get him in here?

As an aside, I didn't like the early bye at first, but it might give us a chance to get some things straightened out on the OL.

What about these two old bastages:

New Orleans cut 15-year veteran center Jerry Fontenot, who lost his position to LeCharles Bentley, who moved over from guard. Fontenot, 37, started all 80 games the past five seasons and was selected as a Pro Bowl alternate last season.

    and

Bob Whitfield's 12-year career with the Atlanta Falcons ended Sunday afternoon when he was released.

We do need help on OL and I know these guys are old as hell. Maybe our young nobody's are better than these has beens though...
