Not sure what Denver is doing with the TE situation:

Denver released two of the three tight ends it acquired in the offseason, waiving Byron Chamberlain -- whom the team picked up in May -- and Jed Weaver, who joined the team as an urestricted free agent in March. Five days earlier, the team also waived O.J. Santiago, meaning that the team parted ways with all three of its offseason acquisitions at the position prior to the start of the year.

Chamberlain led Broncos tight ends in the preseason with eight catches for 119 yards.

The Broncos head into the season with three tight ends -- Jeb Putzier, Patrick Hape and Mike Leach. Of those three, only Hape has started at tight end -- lining up with the first unit in a two-tight end formation at Kansas City on Dec. 16, 2001.

True, but if we're going to continue playing guest O lineman of the week, the money's got to come from somewhere. Just tell McCullough to grow a 'fro and act like a dumbass around cameras and microphones. it'd take a while for any one to notice.

I like Smart's persona too, and he is a good STs player, but he is average as a RB at best. If for whatever reason Davis and Foster get dinged ... we are fucked.

Isn't ANY team that loses its first AND second team RB pretty much fucked?

It wouldn't be much of a issue if Davis and Foster weren't walking M*A*S*H units.

Theoretically, but the problem is, under Dan Henning, the first two backs have gone down each year. Granted, Lamar did end up leaving for other reasons obviously, but I believe he did get hurt. Dee Brown got hurt. Foster got hurt that year. We were down to Nick Goings that year, which incidentally would be what we'd be down to this year.

Davis missed time last year, and I believe Foster was dinged some, too.

There are plenty of teams that have a starter and two competent backups, even if one's a situational backup. Most of them aren't as run-reliant as we are.

    still got Hoover too

    RB is my last concern

Shit though, Byron Chamberlin was my 15th round pick the other night. I figured I got a steal at TE with Sharpe retiring
