Boo, have you ever considered using the funds from one of those gym memberships to invest in some anger management sessions? Man, I'm afraid you are gonna blow one of these days. That can't be healthy! :)

Then again, maybe venting here is your anger management vehicle. Hmmm, maybe I should try it! :D

  3. I haven't been to the free weight area there in years...probably about 4. The last time I was sitting there resting and looked around, that's when I realized the room had about 20 men in it and I was the only straight one. The workout area inside the locker-room is worse. I have, however, never seen the phenomenon you described and am glad.

I only do cardio there now, they have a good selection of equipment and a lot of equipment so you can always use the machine you want when you want.

So builder, the Gateway Y is more gay friendly than the Uptown? I hardly ever see gay men at Gateway...it's all just the working stiffs from the gateway complex.

  4. How do you know?

  5. straight men have "gaydar" too. some are obvious.

I just started going to the new Bally's on South. There is some very good looking ladies up there and haven't noticed many men wearing spandex, but the ladies...nice!

Also some big m-f'rs that can wear whatever the f*** they want, cause I sure as hell ain't gonna tell them otherwise.

I weant to the Central Y 4 days a week for 2 years and I can honestly say I never noticed any gay men. With all the young talent in there the last thing I noticed were the males.

They don't have TV at Schlotzsky's, meat.

    I'm kidding Dave!

  9. what time do you go? all that is there when I'm there is fat mexican women and fat black women. Even the skanks that work there are nasty.

chipshot, you didn't open your eyes. several years ago, they used to have "sex in the shower area will not be tolerated" signs in the locker-room. did that not give you a clue?

I agree. I go to Gold's Gym here in Columbia, and I've seen quite a few folks in unflattering gym attire. I believe absolutely no one with a huge stomach should wear a midrift bearing outfit, and white women with varicose veins should not wear spandex shorts. Ugh!!! Really gross!!! I usually wear long, black spandex pants with an oversized white t-shirt because I don't like people looking at my booty, and I don't like my skin actually touching the dirty, sweaty weight equipment.

I hate how everyone always wants to talk to me when I'm working out. Even when I have the clarity of mind to bring my CD player people still bother me. Can't you see I'm listening to music? Music! I don't want to interact with you assholes or the entire outside world in general. But still they bother me.

I know exactly how you feel, Boo. The same thing happens to me. I usually go to the gym around 8 p.m., so I have to really be on the move and concentrate to get in 30-45 minutes of cardio and a full workout, so I really don't have time for chit chat. Yet, I always have some old, black man following me around the gym or some other undesirable man trying to flirt with me or pick me up. Excuse me, but I did not come here to pick up old men. The fact that I'm wearing headphones and watching the overhead televisions should be your first clue that "I'm busy!" And "note to men" it's probably not the best time to approach a woman when she is hot and sweaty and wearing no makeup with her hair snatched back.

I hate how macho men have to be around the bench press. Characteristically these men measure each other's strength by how much weight they can bench.

I hate when men or women congregate around gym equipment, because it means I'll have to wait all bloody night before I can get my three sets in. Furthermore, I hate when people rest on the machines in the circuit training section, not allowing others to work through. And I hate when people don't wipe off the equipment after they've been sweating all over it. Yuck!!!

I hate everybody that goes to the gym. I hate the overweight middle-aged housewives that pay full price all year round so they can workout in the aerobics center in droves for the two weeks after New Years. I hate how there is always one feeble old person working out, never more then one, but always at least one there. I hate the people that come to the gym and don't work out. People who pay good money to join a gym then only come to socialize and hang out piss me off to no end.

lol. It ticks me off when people don't follow gym etiquette during peak hours, staying on the few elliptical machines for an hour when there are others waiting. This is so rude. And I hate seeing people do improper, or even dangerous, form on weight machines.
