Who do you think should of been the choice as the greatest ACC athlete? My own op., Jordan is the greatest pro, but Thompson was by far the better college player.

I gotta agree with you, being a huge carolina fan, thompson made the greater impact. I guess thats why Thompson gives the ACC speechs in ACC events like tourny's like he did the other night.

I cannot believe that Thompson didn't win. That is so wrong. He dominated in college - and as great as Jordan became, he never really dominated in college. DT was robbed.

What he said. You could make an argument that Jordan shouldn't be top 5 with Sampson and Bias, etc and depending on a number of factors. You just simply cannot make that argument with Thompson. The best....period.

    P.S. Did I say Bias? I meant Bilas :D

I wouldn't put Jordan on my ALL-ACC 1st team. He was good but there were much better college players in the ACC.

Not even close. I'm old enough to have seen both. Thompson was Jordan before Jordan. DT was as close to unstoppable as anyone I ever saw. I would rate Worthy and Phil Ford ahead of Jordan and those were just the UNC players. In the ACC there may be quite a few. Now in the pros MJ has no equal but in the ACC it was DT.

Thompson couldn't shoot and all the players back then sucked. Jordan.
