    The pads are ok. I put neats foot oil on some of them, making them dark-looking, and some are more worn than others. The guy could get more for it with more uniformity.
    I got rid of it because I don't have much call for alto, don't practice on it much because I want to concentrate on tenor. Consequently when I did get a gig I couldn't to do it "justice," so to speak. Rather than do it half-assed, I got rid of it.
    It's a fine instrument, even for a VI.
