    neighborhood #3: power out (the arcade fire)

    i finally bought this album this weekend. i'd been attempting to hold out due to the overwhelming hype. most of it is deserved. doesn't sound like anything else you're listening to and will lift you up from the doldrums in a hurry. not a perfect album by any stretch, but definitely deserves praise for being groundbreaking.

    'Bout the only way I can describe him is to say he's a mainstream blues-based jazz tenor player, similar but different to Stanley Turrentine. I find him enjoyable.

    [BTW, if you haven't heard Turrentine, do yourself a favor, check him out(e.g. Baddest Turrentine).
