Tell me more about the Dregs ...and while you're at that, what's a good Elvis Costello song or two? I have Everyday, Veronica, and a demo with McCartney, So Like Candy.

As for the Dixie Dregs they are/were one of those groups with a sound hard to peg.

Jazz/Rock/Fusion - Electronic chamber music. No vocals. Fronted by Steve Morse - axe man extroidanaire. With bass, drums, keyboard and violin. Dominated by Morse and his speed picking it is mostly a group of instumental solos wrapped around Morse's guitar. Some great jazz fusion stuff ( I'm Freaking Out) country - The Bash and classical - Go for Baroque.

Some people hate it - some love it.

There is a shitload of their music and his solo stuff on audiogalaxy.

They did their best group work late 70's early 80's - I saw them live many times in Blowing Rock. got hooked for life.

Here is a up to date Morse web site. He has a new solo cd and plays with Deep Purple right now. The dregs played at Ziggys last November - I didn't know or woulda been there.

    check it out.
