speaking of Norah, I met a Norah tonight. And that's why it was a memorable name. Very interesting, this girl. And yes, Lexy, she had a nice rack. :D
    Take Five (Dave Brubeck)
I never got how Stan Getz had such a dry and yet mellow sound. I've seen many a john try to get that sound and they end up sounding like a french horn or just straight up sounding mechanical.

    Re: downloading thelonious monk, jazz

actually, no. Monk and Canatella were an electronic band, I almost want to call them a predecessor to white trip hop (would one call the black version acid jazz?). I know because I never liked Tribute to Monk and Canatella because I expected a very Monkish feel, especially since Portishead's singer has a little of billie's voicing in a Sarah Vaughn or Ella Fitzgerald wrap of tone and timbre. But the second part of TTMAC, the part that starts at 7:14 or so in the song, the sax with the echoing in it, I like that. I don't know if that's actually supposed to be part of the song but I've never heard a Portishead song that starts like that and the only released titles with Tribute to... has that as the ending track. If this part were another song it'd have been titled, I'd assume.

Tribute to Monk and Canatella (Portishead)
