    in my opinion this one was their best.

    Steve Gaines was a great guitarist and the band was really just starting to hit their stride.

    I got this original album cover (although since it was lifted from the ASU radio station by my buddy it was a cut out and well worn).

    They pulled this cover from the shelf after their plane crash. The dude on the cover that looks to be on fire (and dead since he was stiff with his eyes closed) was Steve Gaines.

    He burned up in the crash along with Ronnie Van Zant.

    Now thats some freaky shit.

    I can still remember watching Walter Cronkite saying that Linyerd Skinyerd was in a fatal plane crash.

    favorite and almost unknown skynyrd song is on this album - cover of a Merle Haggard tune "Honky Tonk Night Time Man"
