    I agree. You see what Peppers did this year w/o Steroids? NOTHING. Bonds w/o Steroids....NOTHING.

    I'm not up on MLB rules, so I really can't answer that. I just assumed that any performance-enhancing drugs were illegal. If it was in fact only illegal after 2003, then there's really nothing anyone can say about it.

    Even if it wasn't illegal before 2003 to take steroids, it still tells me a lot about Barry Bond's character.

    It shows that he felt that he couldn't perform well enough unless he had synthetic help. It shows that he couldn't accomplish the same feats that Babe Ruth did - half a century ago - by his own talents and skills.

    It shows just how far Barry Bonds will go to include his name among the greats.

    It may not have been illegal, but it shows how insecure and inmature Barry Bonds is.

    How sad.

    So how do you feel about bat corking? I know it's certainly not as serious an issue, but it's along the same lines.

    I have eyes. Anybody with them could easily see that he did not start to balloon up until the mid-late 90's.

    Don't get pissed off at me that your original statement was wrong. Look, I hate Barry Bonds - but if you think that he was a great player only because of steroids, then you are insane.
