I wouldn't be so hard on them. They scored a hell of a lot of points when they needed it. That's gotta count for something.

They're going to need a LOT of points this year. Good thing they got Durant.

they were playing William FUCKING Mary. They shouldn't have needed to score a hell of a lot of points.

I'm scared to even go over to the Carolina boards. Bewtween the really pissed off posters and the ones that are happy they won they will be arguing about this game til December.

Believe me, State has been there. Maybe it will be a wakeup call.

I was at the game. W&M played well in the first half. We expected alot of option and didn't see it hardly at all except for 3 triple-option runs that all went to the FB. We were caught stunting way too many times in the first half which led to some big gains. The W&M QB has some skill, he can run well and made our young LB corp look lost with pump fakes and ability to move around and get some extra time. Add that into the fact we had our hands in their QB 6 times in the game but had no sacks our DB's can't cover forever.
2nd half was a different story the DC actually adjusted his play calls and we shut them down. They scored twice in the 2nd half but the last score was with no time left and we were playing some shitty prevent.

Take away 17pts off turnovers and we played good but 4 freaking turnovers??? 2 of them laying solely on Durant. A scramble out of the pocket hit from behind fumble return to the 4yd line.... #2 a screen pass intended to go over the rushing LB didn't make it, the LB jumped.... scratch that he lept up tipped the ball, landed and caught it and returned to the 3yd line, at least Durant ran the LB down to save the TD.

Overall the D has more talent this year but are too green to make that much of a difference.

    "We expected alot of option"
Why I say that? Bunting commented on it on the pregame show.

Also remember the name Ronnie McGill, he will be a bright spot for us... as he was last year.... one of the few bright spots.

Carolina came close to having three running backs go for 100 yards today.

The wheels started falling off for them in the 1st half when they stopped running the ball.

Quote from Bunting "We played close to 12 freshmen, 3 or 4 of them red-shirt freshmen, and eight or nine being newcomers so they got a taste."

That's what Lou Holtz needs to remember as he calls plays this year. He started getting cutsie-pie on Vandy and then went back to the run later on.
