I think that this forum is a great idea if for nothing else to provide support.

I can't do the Atkins thing though. Bread, potatoes, pasta, all staples in my diet. I've got about 10 pounds to lose though.

    Here's my plan.

    1) Up the activity level I'm convinced that the drop in activity is THE only reason that I have the extra ten. When I was working out all the time I ate enough to feed 3 or 4 people.

    2) Eat more often. If the body thinks that it's not going to get enough food it goes into storage mode. If you eat more often then it knows it's going to get it so it doesn't hold on to it as much.

    3) Cut back on the fat filled lunches! I had weaned myself completely off of french fries. I didn't even like them any more. Now when I do go out for lunch I think that I have to have french fires.

My dinner habits are pretty good, mostly chicken and fish with fresh steamed veggies or some kind of pasta. I do have steak and pork though just lean them out. Lunch habits bite and breakfast in non-existent.

I'm walking a mile at lunch almost everyday now. Two pound down, eight more to go. :D

Anybody wanna come to Concord and walk with me everyday?

wish i could. i don't like running or jogging, but i do enjoy fast walking. it's my preferred cardio.

sounds like you've got a good grip on what you're doing. the final 10 is the toughest to lose.

Have you ever tried a Nordic Track? They're great. I just can't get to mine right now. :(
