Nope, the idea is to get WR taken care of in the draft and or free agency. But in both cases we improve the RB position and the QB position.

Or you could suggest something plausible.

Dayne is IMO a bust. He's fat and slow... at least Bettis had a decent burst.

I don't know, a change of addy can regenerate a guys career. However, if Dayne is going to have much of a career, he should consider a move to FB IMO.
Granted, he'd have to learn how to block and catch.

I'd take a shot on him for a 4th. He comes cheap, and I dont know of anything out there that we can get in the 4th with as much potential upside as Dayne brings.

    Priest Holmes
    5'9" 213 lbs
4 years with Ravens (RB 3 yrs)
    459 carries for 2102 yards, roughly 4.6 yrds a carry & 10 TDs
next two years with Kansas City, lots of yards and TDs

    Ron Dayne
    5'10" 250 lbs
    3 years with Giants
533 Carries for 1888 yards or roughly 3.5 yrds a carry 15 tds

Is Ron the next Holmes? Probably not. Can a guys career take off when placed in the right situation? Yes it can.

I'd like to get a gauge for Dayne's committment to Slim Fast or something like that :D, but for the right trade, I'd give him a chance over say a Lamar Smith type...

Charlie Garner played his first 5 years with the Eagles never getting more than 588 yards rushing. Then moving on to 49ers, he bust out with 2 - 1100 yards plus seasons, then moving to Oakland where he has done decent averaging 900 yards each season.

It seems I would be alone here then. I think Dayne is getting a raw deal.

Players are professionals, but do get unmotivated when they just don't fit in the game plan. He's got low miles and it could be he needs a change of scenery.

I think Dayne could be a really good RB if somebody would give him the ball. I don't see the Panthers being a fit though.

I still want a shot at Stephan Davis. I want to see Dee Brown be a year better. I want to see if Foster plays.
