FWIW, I think PB is the best since Connery or that Aussie guy.

Sweet, why was it rumored that he wouldn't be back? Was it them not wanting him, or his wanting to move on to.......stuff

I saw him on Inside the Actors Studio a couple months ago and he seemed like he really wanted the part again (made a humorous comment about needing the money), so it must have been them not being sure they wanted him back.

I think it was a bit of a pissing contest with him asking for more than they wanted to pay. I am glad he is back though. The guy they had pegged to replace him was not going to be any good.

yeah, at one stage, they claimed he was getting too old to be bond, I don't have a link, but I read it online somewhere a while back when they were speculating who the next one would be. I thought wtf, too old? They brought Connery back after 20 years for a flick, so they're just stupid.

Brosnan has been the best bond imo, with Connery a very close 2nd. Hopefully, they can get back up to Goldeneye par.

They probably couldn't find anyone they really wanted so they threw some more money at PB and he said OK.
