Stating your case about Ted Turner and his money along with the one championship in 38 years is just a tad misleading. It helps you to make your case, I guess, but I've been around longer than that. The Braves were dirt before he came and all he did was build them into a competitive team through smart leadership and yes, a little cash.......but not Yankee cash like George has been laying out. Lets get real here, George has been trying to buy titles for years and every failure to win just adds fuel to the fire. People like to throw off on Bobby Cox and yes I've cussed his name a time or two myself. But the guy can manage a team, he deserves as much credit, if not more, for the Braves CONTINUED success thru the years......not a bank-rolled team, like NY. Everybody knows that the Yankees have the best teams that money can buy. The rest of us just cant compete with that and stay alive finacially in the future. Part of the blame lays squarely on the shoulders of MLB for allowing this to happen. "Whats best for the Yankees is best for baseball"....seems to be thier creedo. It makes me sick. The world does not revolve around NYC or the Yankees..........and to come on here making comparisons about other smaller market franchises as compared to NY or why their accomplishments are watered down carries no weight in my book. You have no idea the animosity from the majority of MLB fans toward the Yanks.

You may think the Yankees are bad for baseball. That's your opinion.A majority of baseball owners do not think so.Especially the ones that are padding their pockets with Yankee money. The Yankees are sending 80 million in revenue sharing to other teams to help keep some of these teams afloat. The Yankees not only are packing Yankee stadium, but pretty much all the road parks they visit...once again helping pad other teams owners pockets.

The Yankees were winning championships from the 20's to the 60's...long before free agency.I know the Yankees are similar to ALI...you either love them or hate them.I know a lot of people hate and despise a winner, but the Yankees are not bad for baseball...they are the best thing baseball has going right now.Half the country is pulling for them while the other half is hoping they fail. They seem to always play before a full house.

The last bargaining agreement was meant to hurt and slow the Yankees down. The luxury tax and revenue sharing were put in place to stop the Yankees. It has not.Don't worry you will see more drastic efforts to slow down the Yankees during the next bargaining agreement in a couple of years.Baseball may be cutting it's own throat though.I guess we will see.

I heard earlier since it was supposed to be a dobleheader that the Yankees would get two wins in the forfeit.

Not sure if this is true or not.

I doubt it since the AL East is real close. This would piss off too many people, including the bosox fans. Selig would be a dumbass to give the yankees two free games.
