Actually, funny you mention Kerry Collins. A couple of kids got killed leaving a party from his house at Lake Norman, apparently they were huffing computer cleaner out of a can and got thrown out.

Went to Quail Hollow, took some pics in another topic in this forum. Saw Steph and Dell a couple of times. Coach Brown followed Jordan around on the pro-am, hope he can stick around.

Bobcats may have missed their window for a smash unfortunately, talent-wise. It will be expensive to resign Felton (if we want to) and Tyrus, and Stephen Jackson is another year older. Any way MJ and the call to Carolina can bring Chris Paul home? He'd be a great addition and might love playing with Chandler again.

Saw Fox at the golf tournament too. The more I think about it the more I think he may get a pass this upcoming year. However, if the Panthers are at all relevent he'll be a hot commodity for another team and may feel like the Panthers didn't respect him with a new contract soon enough.

What's the deal with that oil slick? Do you feel like it could be a worst-case scenario again? Could the area survive? Glad to hear the Hornets are staying with a local owner.

What's up with Sean Payton? Is he addicted to vicodin?

There's tons of stuff to talk about, we just don't have a local sports talk show guy worth a damn to do it with!

What I wouldn't give for you and Mike Solarte to be on the radio locally. Do you still do radio in NO? I saw you working with the Hornets TV crew at the game up here, think I saw Gil MacGregor too. Good stuff, blast from the past.

We went to the first playoff game. The 'pump up' movie started with Zo's shot, said 'remember how far you've come.' I thought it was awesome for the Bobcats to embrace the Hornet history like that. I doubt it would have happened with BJ still owning the team, the pulse has been a lot different with MJ in town.

They were giving away season tix so I grabbed a couple for next year, definitely excited to have season tix for the first time.

I still tell this story occasionally Gerry V, not sure if you remember it.

Do you remember having Mel Kiper on your show on the 1480(?) station that went out of business? I think it was after Michelle Conley, it was when the NFL bid was heating up. Kiper came on and said that Charlotte didn't deserve a team, that in his opinion St Louis and Baltimore were leading the expansion efforts.

I always thought he was a little condescending in his opinion that day and came off as a blowhard (no! Not Mel Kiper! lol) but I never forgot it. I reveled when he was wrong and we got our team, but I never forgot that in some ways he was right. Even though Baltimore and St Louis failed in getting expansion teams, it was not long at all before both cities had new teams themselves.

Anyway, hopefully Kiper is as right about Clausen as he was about Baltimore and St Louis getting teams.

You always seem to show up when I'm talking smack about you Gerry V but you may not remember that I've been a fan of yours for about two decades. The pool stuff aside, I used to love your radio show and you left a void in the city. Hell I even called your WCCB 18 sunday night sports talk show once or twice. You were a welcome broadcaster back when there wasn't 24/7 access to sports. I've always appreciated that even if I was hurt that you left with the Hornets. I understand now that it wasn't personal.

Can't wait to hear more, very interesting that you had offers in Denver. I can't blame you for trying NO but Denver has always seemed like a great place to live.

Thanks for the nuggets Gerry V, glad you haven't forgotten about us!
