props to Brazil for a great tournament and Ronaldo who deserves a spot among the great goal scorers ever to play the game.
This was a great World Cup, lots of upsets and it was fun to see some new teams make it to the final rounds. USA proved alot with their run, it's only a matter of time before we make the finals. I expect USA in the finals of World Cup 2010 and a good showing in Germany in 06'.

Does anybody think that the coverage and excitement over the World Cup this year will spur more interest in MLS? Granted that MLS is mediocre soccer at best but more interest means more money, which means better training, which means better American soccer players. I think that we will see more players staying in the US to play MLS rather than going over to the European leagues....at least I hope so. :)

Looking at Ronaldo's hair makes me want to kick his ass. Glad I didn't watch the game, I figured Brazil would win it.

    Official interpretation:
Infraction in which an offensive player does not have at least two defensive players between himself and the goal line when the ball is played forward by a member of the attacking team.
    ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

    Good isn't it?:D

I thought you were a yank?
Is Rockwell not in the USA?:D

In other words the official rule means "let's make it as hard as possible for the attacking side to score"? Guys must hate offense.

Rockwell is in the USA true, but South of the Mason-Dixon line, which means I'm not a frigging "Yank". :D

    What's a line?.... nothing really.:D

Let's imagine for a minute there was no offside rule.

Game kicks off...striker trots up to the goal area and stands by the keeper and waits for the ball.????

The phrase "kick and rush" would replace "total football".

    The offside rule is ok.

The most talented team won the Cup. Picking against a Brazil is never a good idea. They are still more talented than any team in the world by a long shot IMO. Germany was a bit unlucky and played great in the final. Brazil was just too dangerous from all over the field.

What can you say - Brazil is just an unbelievable juggernaught of skill when they are playing well.
