I saw it last night -

I thought it was a very good movie. It's not really a horror movie - more like a story about love and devotion. Not very scary at all, but interesting. I'm not going to post any spoilers here, but it's not hard to figure out the "twist".

Did you see Signs and Sixth Sense? How would you compare it to those 2?

that is the stupidest thing i've ever read. did thelt write this review? good lord. i didn't make ANY of those leaps. it's like you can't have a bad guy in a movie without somebody saying it's supposed to be george bush or something.

i saw it tonight. like all of his work, it's very subtle. i think, too subtle, myself.

his movies have a tendency to be too real. so much is compromised for the sake of reality that it ends up being a little too... normal? i'm not sure what the word would be. i don't want to spoil anything. i think he's a great director and i love his movies. the 6th sense is one of my all time favorites. but unbreakable, for example, just unfolded so slowly and the events were somewhat uneventful. signs is probably his best attempt at making something that could go anywhere and, while i don't think it was great, i do feel like it was more successful in that regard. i think he's just too much of a slave to keeping people grounded in reality.

i'd love to talk about the flick itself without worrying about spoilers. maybe in a couple weeks...

Thanks, I thought the same thing, and then thought maybe I wasn't smart enough to get what the guy was saying.

rare is it i see a movie that keeps me conversing about it after the fact. this was one of those. i saw it with friends last night 3 of us liked it, j. hated it. but after talking about it he started to think he liked it more than originally. ironically i saw signs with the same friend. i hated signs, i thought it stupid, he loved it...
