I loath Klempson but I can't believe that the boosters would let this happen the way it's being depicted. They're has to be something about this that has not surfaced IMO.

I didn't like Bowden before; I like him less, now. They made a commitment to the player and then take it back. Who are those naiive twits that keep screaming "student-athletes" whenever there is talk about scholarships? It's a business---big business. And the only one's that truly benefit are the coaches and the schools. The players are the product that can end up with the shaft.

I remember when Spurrier came to South Carolina. There were 3 complete lazy boobs on the team. Told them to consider their scholarships gone in August unless they proved him wrong. One kid got his act together...others...goodbye. Clemson made a BIG stink about it on the recruiting trail...

This is FAR FAR worse. Even worse than TB using religion as a recruiting tool.

This is disgusting. I know that coaches run players off all the time to make way for the next batch if they need the scholarship back but that doesn't make it any less disgusting. How does this fucker keep his job? He's always hanging by a thread and wins just enough to keep his job (apparently) and loses so many games he ought to win on talent alone? And Clemson gave him a raise to stop him from becoming a Hog? Wouldn't have been that hard to replace him imo..

FWIW, BD and UNC just landed a top DE in the country for their 10th recruit for next years class already.

I hope that isn't true. If it is, that's real shitty. I also hope that if it is, he does go somewhere else and comes back and beats the shit out of Clemson in Death Valley.....this coming from a Clemson fan.

I think we all understand that stuff like this goes down in all collegiate sports, which doesn't make it right. But my main grief with the whole situation is they used this kid when he could benefit them (whole situation with his brother) and then after the free PR went away they cut ties with him. Hopefully this catches up and bites Bowden in the ass.
