Go for it Builder! Around midnight my hubby and I will be on day 10 of no cigs. We were tired of smelling bad, not tasting much of anything and the money was crazy. Almost 4 bucks a day each, close 240.00 a month! In the last week of no cigs I can smell things, taste food much better and I have some cash in my pockets!

I decided to just quit, no weening, no nothing. I get by one 'craving' at a time. When I get the craving for a cig, I think about it, the smell, the cost, how my chest feels and how I must reek to everyone around me. By the time I think of those things, the craving is past. This gets to be a habit it seems and now when I crave, it doesnt last more than 3 seconds or so. I feel great not always looking for my cigs and lighter, not dragging them everywhere I go.

You can do it!!!!!!! I'm pulling for you:D

  2. It most absolutely can be done. I stopped cold turkey as well. I've smoked now and again since, mostly when I drank. It's a nasty habit and there is not one positive thing about smoking a cigarette. Your lungs will begin to heal immediately after you stop smoking.

Good luck to all of you!

jamie and i started buying drums of american spirit about a year ago and rolling our own. took th $ total from around $180 a month to about $12. american spirits don't really smell bad. it's weird. it must be all the chemicals that make them so stinky. i'm not ready to quit yet. good luck to you. damn, i've quit coke, weed, alcohol, and all the others, but i think cigs is harder than any of that. y'all who are doing it are really something.

  8. lmao....DUH

You can do it!!! If you really really want to....a hypnotist can help. I know...ya'll will say it is bs. But.... it works if you REALLY WANT to stop....if you don't...it won't. My Mom and sister just recently quit....about 8 months ago...and they have no desire to start again...it really helps getting the suggestions from the hypnotist...it's worth the $$....about what you'd pay for one month's smokes. :)

    Good Luck!!

I just read this. The thing to do (kind of like p2k1f said) is focus on the money. $125.00 a month is $1500.00 in a year. You know what you can buy with that? I am a smoker, but I only smoke when I drink, and not much then. I smoke about 2 packs a month, which is about $6.00 a month, $72.00 a year. But if you can't cut way back, then $1500.00 can get you a decent computer, a couple of TV's, or a kickass vacation every year. It still won't be easy, but might be easier. :)
