    Biggest winners

North Carolina: Every key junior from the Tar Heels' sixth-ranked defense -- defensive tackle Mavin Austin, cornerback Kendric Burney, safety Deunta Williams, and linebackers Quan Sturdivant and Bruce Carter -- is coming back. UNC, which finished 8-5, returns 19 starters and could contend for the ACC crown if it gets its offense cranking.

If the offense gets cranking. I just have no confidence in Yates though. He looks good for stretches and then in crunch time he makes a game changing mistake or he overthrows a WR by 5 yards. A game breaker at RB would be a nice addition too although so far I haven't seen any recruited. Houston is a decent RB but not a threat to break it everytime he touches the ball. I'm not complaining too much about the job Davis has done, what the Heels are doing is miles better than the way things were before his arrival. At least on Saturday you think they have a chance to win as opposed to thinking "Maybe they'll keep it close".

I think you nailed it. They will get back Draughn at rb which will help but they have nothing in the pipeline after Womble dropped out of school. I don't see a home run hitting WR either. They are better and solid but it's on defense. They need to get so much better on offense than I think is possible in 1 year.

Why does everybody assume that Yates will be starting next season?
