No doubt this year is an aberation for the Heels. I mean, they just won the darn championship last year. Having said that, the record is still surprising given the caliber of recruits and the head coach. With recruits most teams would love to have, talent alone seems like it would be winning more games. Don't say it's the "ACC" crap, the league as a whole is down this year.

    Whose fault is it?

The talent & the coaching. The returning players have provided no leadership. Ginyard, Drew, Graves, Thompson, Davis, & Zeller have collectively sucked all year. Also, Roy has done an awful job turning this season around. For the most part, the team's gotten worse. The freshmen have been real inconsistent, & it may take a couple years to see any real improvement with them. Next year could be a struggle as well.

Just hope that K's team will not suffer from the curse of the conch shell the rest of the season.

They have talent but the talent doesn't reach the right positions. Roy always seems to have a talented PG and SG that run the floor at full speed. This year we have Drew and Ginyard. Nuff said. With this type of team Williams can't run the offense or defense he's run all his career and I'm not sure he can adapt to playing slower. That's a fault on his part no doubt.

So it's been the talent all along with Williams and NOT the coaching?

As much as anything a big reason is Roy estimated Larry Drews ability as a PG and stubbornly still wants to run for 40 minutes. Injuries and the players making the same mistakes over and over finished off the rest of the year. Ginyard, Thomson, and Graves are role players and have been expected to be leaders (like JR Reid). This isn't in their DNA

The crappy record doesn’t really bother me. The way they have played, the effort they have lacked, the clueless basketball they play however, does. The regression this team has made this season is mind boggling. I’d be lying if I said I expected a record like this but in light of how bad this team truly is I could almost accept it. Fans were lulled into some false security the way they started the year with wins over Ohio St and Mich St. The big loss to Syracuse was thought to be an aberration. Kentucky went up big but as usual the Heels came back and almost won. They lost by 10 to Texas and scored 90 points (90 FUCKING POINTS!) so they seemed okay at the time (who knew Texas really had the suck too?).

But then the wheels just slowly fell off. Sloppy play got sloppier, turnovers got worse, scoring was impossible, effort just disappeared. They play decent for about 10 minutes of every game but play like crap the other 30. So I could almost accept the crappy record – but not the way this team just appears to have given up. The players have given up, it appears Roy has too. So now the fans are following suit.

I saw this quote about the Heels on a Kansas board and it seems most appropriate:

“They are used to having their dicks sucked constantly, and now that they realized it's a pretty ugly chick down there, they've lost a lot of motivation.”

Must be one ugly ass bitch doing the sucking this year.

    Cremins Finally Speaks!

Finally, after 2 months of speculation & embarrassment, College of Charleston coach Bobby Cremins held a press conference today at 11:00AM.

His statement: "The College of Charleston would like to apologize to every college basketball fan in America for our fans & players storming the court after we defeated UNC back in January. Clearly, we were thinking that this victory was more important than it turned out to be. We hope this display doesn't tarnish our ability to receive a bid into the NCAA Tournament. It was a youthful indiscretion on our part, & we promise never to do this again."

Now, back to the Tiger Woods press conference!
