I personally cringe at the idea of sub-forums. From user experience elsewhere, believe me, it gets completely out of control very quickly. Picture the sheer number of denominations in Christianity alone and I don't have to paint you a picture.

But I could be wrong. Again, the needs of the forum users will guide the direction. So let's hear them.

To me, R&S is a sub-forum. Sorry for the confusion.

Yep. Clarity in writing is one of strong points.

The thing to keep in mind about any rule changes is that it would be made to satisfy just a few. If you look at any "controversies" we've had in here, it's always the same people. Always.

Vito is right. Keep the rules. Just let me and VP and Sly duke it out when we feel so inclined. When it crosses the line and innocent people get attacked (which hasn't happened yet), then the mods jump in with warnings, locked threads, modified posts, etc.

SMs oversee all forums. If there are posted rules, we follow them. This hasn't ever changed.

So, in other words, we'll say there are rules, but make it clear that they don't matter.

It honestly doesn't matter to me one way or the other. But either this has the posted rules or it doesn't. We either all abide by them or we don't. We really shouldn't change things because someone wants to start trouble, and that's certainly not fair to people who have been relieved from this forum for doing so.

Yep, I understand that. I guess I'd perfer the supermods stick to porn and spam and let the active mods handle content in their own individual forum, particularly in here. There is a trust level that I believe E and HB have earned. Not a big fan of bigfooting someone elses turf, I guess.

If you want to duke it out with me, start a thread in another forum. For this forum to have any value whatsoever, it needs to be a place where people can freely and openly discuss topics without fear of being attacked.

If you can't handle that, then stay away from the forum. It's really that simple.
